Captain Jason Levine

This is a new piece that is part of a large project. While I cant get into that, I can speak about some of the things I did in this image. First, about the subject matter, it is all about being at sea and getting on against some of the the worst odds. Its raining with a lighting storm going on, but with a smoke in the month and a stern look we push forward.

I keep this to a limited palette in order push both the mood and temperature. Cold, wet, harsh, and still hardened to complete the task. While this can be done with many different colors I felt limiting the colors allow our eyes to really sink in. How can we push these paints to their extremes much like this tug boat captain facing the extremes. Some times it's dirty hard work but their is a beauty to it.

Horror, Creepy, Scary

I've always been a fan of horror movies and games, though the last decade or so it felt like something was missing. While there are loads of movies and games out with demons, creatures and ghost they were on a different wave length then what I was currently set on. It wasn't until creepy-pastas started to show up that a renewed sense of importance was kindled. Taken from folklore with a dab of horror culture we have new voices in the world of horror and it's everyone that has access to a computer and internet.


That pushed me to start exploring some horror themes and ideas. I just started to paint some of them and here is a quick snap shot of them.

Lonesome

Frankly a quick photo and crop, just to get it up. Its been busy around here lately. Looking for work, getting tickets sold for an event. Even still I've decided to invest some time into doing some horror themed works. This is one of them.
